What's new??? Crochet at Milano's design week 9-13 April 2013
Last week I visited the Milan Design Week in the North of Italy. The land of great food and excellent coffee :-). Milan during this week, is such an inspiring place and definitely this year had a better feel to it than the past few years due to the crisis. But this year lots of lovely ideas were presented with a great finishing. They offered a more luxurious feeling. Recycling was not anymore the main concept.
Of course I was there for work but I have picked up some of the ideas referring to crochet or knitting but in a more advanced or creative way.
Unfortunately I took hundreds of pictures but I can not remember the designer or company who created these products.

Weekly Inspiration _08:: Crochet for the home
I don't know what is wrong with the weather in the South of France lately but it is raining so often, and again after a rainy weekend and one dry day they are predicting rain again for the rest of the week. That is why my 'Weekly Inspiration' goes to crochet projects for the home. Lovely designs that make you forget about the horrible weather outside. :-)

Weekly Inspiration_07: Yellow accents
Last week I went through many interior magazines as I feel spring is almost there and want to change something in my apartment to express summer is on its way :-). Well, I realised that a big trend this spring is having yellow accents in the interior and in your outfits. Have a look at the examples I have gathered.

Weekly Inspiration_05:: Pink and Green
Spring is in the air!! Are you ready for Green and Pink?? It feels like a natural combination as we see it so often in nature. But of course the softer the colors the more easy it seems to wear where as a strong contrast if is often avoided (like picture 3). But look at the cool crochet 'green belt' she is wearing on top of her skirt!! ;-)

Even on Etsy, lots of shops these days are offering products with screen printing. You could do this at home, you probably need the space to mess around with paint :-), but you can find lots of tutorials online.

What's new??? Crocheting with cassette tapes
I came across this great idea which I just had to share this with you. Maybe you have already seen it or tried it but for me it was new... crocheting with old cassette tapes. Honestly I never even thought of this but it is such a great idea and look at all the fun stuff you can create with it, going from doilies to jewelry to even art installation. So inspiring if you ask me. So let's get creative and look for those old cassette tapes and recycle them into something completely new ;-).

What's new??? Spring colours 2013
For those who haven't seen it yet, Pantone announced it's top 10 fashion spring colours for 2013 a while ago. See here the overview and the names they gave them. They are not that different from last year but they seem a bit more intense and optimistic than spring 2012. The 'It' colour for 2013 is suppose to be Monaco Blue. Hope this will help you to decide what to wear, crochet or sew for the coming months. :-)

What's new??? Spring Fashion 2013
To think of what to crochet for your home or for yourself will need some research, of course what is your taste but at the same time we all like to be up to date with the latest trends. That's why I decided to dedicate Wednesday to 'What's new???'. Every Wednesday I would like to go into one topic briefly which could inspire you to continue searching on the internet or it might give you ideas of where to go from here. I hope you will enjoy it and look forward to hearing your feedback.
For those of you trying to figure out what to start crocheting or knitting, which colours to buy etc, well, have a look here. I've picked up 3 interesting ideas, tips of how fashion is going to evolve this year. For sure, colours are in!!! We don't seem to be depressed because of the global economic situation but we rather want to make a statement to show 'life goes on and we are enjoying it, despite of everything ...'.

Colour combinations
Are you also often looking for great colour combinations? Well have a look at Design Seeds, they update, on a regular base, their new colour combinations. I have to admit, they always look amazing and inspiring.
On their home page you can indicate your main colour and they will give you several possibilities of other colours you can combine with your main colour. It is just a great side to get some up-to-date colour inspiration!
